TERMS & CONDITIONS
These Terms and Conditions apply to all orders for products placed with us via our website or over the telephone. Please read them carefully before ordering products from us.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects the statutory rights of consumers.
ACCEPTANCE OF YOUR ORDER
We, Hayes and Lake Jewellery, must receive payment of the price of the products and any quoted delivery charges before we can accept your order. We reserve the right to refuse your order or to restrict the number of products you may order.
If you place your order using our website you will receive an email from our payment provider, using the email address you provided when placing your order. We will also send you an email acknowledging your order. Both emails are sent automatically and do not mean that we have accepted your order. We will notify acceptance of your order by sending an email to you stating that your order has been accepted and despatched. Otherwise, our acceptance of your order takes place upon delivery of the products. Only when we have accepted your order is a binding contract created between us.
PRICES
Our prices are available over the telephone and are set out in our website and other literature. Prices are set out on our website in Pounds Sterling and are inclusive of United Kingdom-rated VAT at the prevailing rate where applicable.
You are responsible for the disclosure and payment of any import duties or other taxes which apply in the country to which the products are delivered.
Prices remain in force until we publish new prices on our website. Delivery charges may apply and, if applicable, will be displayed during the order process.
Whilst we try to ensure that all prices on our website, in our literature and given over the telephone are accurate, mistakes can sometimes occur. If we discover an error in the price of products you have ordered, we will contact you as soon as possible and give you the option of either reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat the order as being cancelled. If the order is cancelled, we will refund any money which we have taken from you.
IMAGES
All images and descriptive matter contained in our website or other literature are for the sole purpose of giving an approximate idea of the appearance and characteristics of the products described and should not be used or relied upon for any other purpose.
The product dimensions supplied are intended to give an approximate indication of the size of individual products. The images of products may not show their actual size. If you wish to inspect a product before purchasing it, please contact us so that we can put you in contact with your local stockist for an appointment.
AVAILABILITY
All orders are subject to availability of products. If we are unable to deliver products ordered, we will notify you (where practicable) and, if we have received the price and the delivery charges of the unavailable products, we will refund them to you within 30 days unless you agree to a longer period.
DELIVERY
Orders are delivered to UK postal addresses only and, unless otherwise stated, shipping is free. We aim to provide delivery within two working days, where possible.
Orders can be placed on the website at any time. We aim to process orders placed before 3 pm Monday through Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) the same day however this is not guaranteed. Please allow up to 2 working days for your order to be dispatched.
All orders are sent by Royal Mail recorded delivery except orders over £100 which will be sent Royal Mail registered delivery.
In exceptional circumstances and for special ordered items please allow up to 60 days for delivery, however, we will be in contact and provide you with all information to keep you updated with the progress of your order.
We will deliver products ordered by you to the shipping address stated on your order form.
CANCELLATION & RETURNS POLICY
If you are unhappy with the goods received, you have 7 days after receipt to cancel your order. We require notification of cancellation by letter, fax, email or phone before returning the goods.
We will honour our 7 days money-back guarantee providing the goods are returned in their original unworn condition with all packaging and documentation enclosed and the security tag must still be attached to the original item.
It is the customers' responsibility to ensure the safe delivery of cancelled orders back to Hayes and Lake Jewellery. This will be done at the customers' own expense. Refunds are issued on receipt of goods in the original condition and cover the total of goods purchased but we regret does not include the original delivery charge. We are only able to credit the account from which the original purchase is made. A full refund excluding the original postage costs will be given.
Please Note: We are unable to receive any returned earrings due to health and safety reasons. In this case, the order must be cancelled before goods have been shipped.
Goods that are made to order or specially altered or customised cannot be returned unless faulty or due to a manufacturing defect. Any manufacturing defect will need to be examined by Hayes and Lake before any refund is considered.

WARRANTY
All products bought from us are guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from the date of purchase. If within that period and after having the opportunity to inspect a product we are satisfied (acting reasonably) that it is faulty as a result of a defect in materials or workmanship, we will accept the return for an exchange of the product. You must provide us with the original invoice, dispatch note or other proof of purchase.
If we supply a replacement product this warranty shall apply to the replacement product for the balance of the warranty period for the original product.
Nothing in this condition affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
This warranty does not apply where the defect is due to the product not being cared for in an appropriate manner or when the product has been modified, misused, neglected or wilfully or accidentally damaged. This warranty is not transferable to a new owner of the product.
SECURITY
We endeavour to protect our users' information in respect of their use of this website. When users submit sensitive information via the website, their information is protected both online and off-line.
When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card numbers), that information is encrypted and is protected with industry-standard encryption software. All card details are taken via Stripe and not kept on the Hayes and Lake server.
